Batmania!

Wow,

So who would have thought bats would have played a huge role in my week. On Monday I had the pleasure of James and Bobby's company for Batman Begins. Now...first off I sure say I am a huge Batman fan, so when I say this movie was awesome, I know what I am talking about. The best thing about it is how nothing seemed superheroish. Batman is NOT a superhero, so this is good. All the other ones were cheesy and things were too extra-oridinary. This version grounded it in reality.

Now that is not to say Gotham didn't look awesome, and psuedo-futuristic, as always. The cast was awesome, the story was tight, and for once the villians weren't cheesy, and they made sense. No stupid powers here. The only complaint was the fight scenes were filmed handheld and were too shaky and choppy to really make out what was happening.

And I just returned from BatBoy the Musical. I know that sounds stupid, but it was really great. Every moment had a balance of pure, real emotion, plus the cheesiness. The direction was tight, with a great use of space. The lead cast was strong, and the ensemble made up for lack of singing with pure energy and acting. The script was well crafted and the songs were fun and had a great mix of generes.

I am in a weird mood, as I have been all summer, and I am starting to think that won't change. But I am slowly embracing the lonliness and doing stuff with it. I have been going on amazing hikes around the resevoir...very off the path. It is very relaxing, and gives me a great enviroment to think. I also get a great workout and a tan to boot.

But still I am pretty lonely here, but I have been used to that in Toronto, so I don't even know why it bothers me here. Maybe just because there I am so busy I don't notice.

Oh well...enough bitching for now

I will leave you with a simulation of me with a Mohawk...
