Stupid Writer's Block

This summer has not been kind to me as far as my artistic needs are. I have the worst case of Artist's Block ever!

I have not sketched one good thing this summer, and really have lost all desire. I even got a job illustrating a math comic (yeah...you heard right), and have no drive to actually work on. I'm getting paid to draw and yet I can't! Arghhh.

And one of my great passions, as you probably know is writing musical. I have two going pretty strong in my head, with a clear vision of how I want them to turn out, but I can't seem to get the words out on paper, or out of my mouth. I really wanted to work hard on them over the summer, but nothing is working. It is very frustrating.

One of the musicals is about a group of business people, all bored with their lives, who decide one day to go out and actively try and make their horoscopes come true by the end of the day. It follows their intertwining stories. It has a rock/pop musical feel to it. The songs I did write I am quite happy with, but I can't seem to come up with more.

The other one is about a family that was fairly fractured by a tragedy, and their week-long trip to Israel for the youngest son's Bar Mitzvah. While there, they each go on a seperate personal journey of sorts, and in the end they come together as a family. This one is a more legit, classical score (although with me that still means that there is my rock feel to the music, but it is more subdued). This one is so vivid on my mind and i know exactly how I want it to feel, but I can't seem to get past the one song I wrote (but a damn good song it is...if I do say so myself).

GAHHH...I think maybe the problem is I haven't left the house all summer, therefore have no inspiration. Hah...PLEASE someone drag me out of my house and force me to have some sort of social interaction this summer. I am such a bitter recluse right now, it needs to be dealt with.

BE MY MUSE.
